In the award-winning documentary film “Modified”, the filmmaker and her mother embark on a very personal and poignant investigative journey into the world of genetically modified foods to find out why GMOs aren’t labeled in the United States and Canada despite being labeled in 64 countries around the world. Anchored around the filmmaker’s relationship to her mom, an organic gardener who battled cancer during the film’s production, and fuelled by their shared love of food, the film is a visual celebration of gardening, cooking, and family legacy. An official selection at over 70 international film festivals, the film has received 15 awards including the 2019 James Beard Foundation Award for Best Documentary.
