What are the policies for the UMass Dorm Rooms?  

Fees are per person, per night. Dorm rates vary by age. Ages 12 & under must room/camp with a guardian. Housing for ages 3 and under is free. You will need to bring your own sheets, blankets, pillow, towel, and fan, as temperatures may be high. Single and Double dorm options do not have elevators.

Dorm Key Policy: A -$70 deposit per key/card set will be held until return, checks made out to "UMass" are required. There will be a $20 charge for lost access cards, $50 for lost keys. You will be charged one night's lodging for any residence hall room reserved in advance but not occupied. The charge will reflect the occupancy rate at which it was reserved.

Single rooms: 1 single bed. Limit of 1 adult and 1 child per room.

Double rooms: 2 single beds. Limit 2 adults and 2 children per room.

Dorm Suites: 4 single bedrooms (rented individually), 2 baths, common area with kitchen, A/C. Limit 1 adult, 1 child per single bedroom. Bring your own dishes and pots/pans if you plan to cook.

How does camping work at the conference?

Campsites cost $21/night and sites will be located near portable facilities.  Flushing toilets and showers within short walking distance.

Is RV camping allowed?

Yes.  Campers can register as staying in tents or RVs.  There will be assigned parking lots for RV’s.  No hook-ups are available.

I don’t want to camp or stay in a dorm. Is there something a little nicer nearby?

NOFA has blocked a limited number of rooms at the UMass Campus Hotel.  You must register directly through the hotel online or by phone at (877) 822-2110. Single or double occupancy is $142.00 per room, per night (plus applicable taxes and fees, currently 6% plus $1.00 per room, per night). Please use our NOFA Group Code for Hotel Reservations: NOF16C.  NOFA reserved rooms will be available at this rate until July 15, 2016.  After that date, rooms will be available at regular hotel rates.


Can I purchase prepared meals at the conference?

Yes! Vegetarian, non-vegetarian and vegan options(all organic) will be served in UMass’s Worcester dining hall.  Our annual Saturday dinner is all local! You can buy any combination of all 8 meals – Friday breakfast to Sunday lunch.  A limited number of dining hall meals will also be for sale on a walk-in basis, at a higher price.

Can I get something quick and affordable at the conference?

The UMass “Baby Berk” Truck will be available for a la carte options for lunch Saturday and Sunday from 11am-1pm.

Can I bring my own food?

Of course! Many attendees eat on the cheap by packing a cooler and bringing their meals with them. The dorm rooms and campsites do not have access to stoves or refrigerators. Each dorm suite does have a kitchen - bring your own pots and dishes!
